Description
This is the entrance to St. Roch's Cemetery on All Saints Day in New Orleans. It is a day here when we visit our deceased ancestors and friends and bring them flowers. We also clean the tombs. One elderly lady was soaping down the engraved marble on her family tomb. Others were sweeping.
In the center of this photo is the small chapel that was built after one of the yellow fever epidemics here. In this chapel is a little room filled with memorabilia to thank St. Roch for his help. It is one of the most interesting cemeteries here. Monochrome.
