Description
Here is the skirt of the bride's wedding dress. The going thing seems to be a white or off white dress with a tuille skirt in red. She is also wearing vintage polka dot red shoes. This was shot in the French Quarter in New Orleans, in the Jackson Square area. This is a photo from a destination wedding (or elopement wedding). They are very popular in New Orleans.
So how does one set up a destination wedding. First you find a minister in the city who will marry you outside of the church. Outside anywhere where it is permitted. The minister will also tell you exactly what you need to do permit and paper-wise. The ministers know lots of free places to have the ceremony; so do most of the photographers. One great site for info is Fig Street Weddings. Link is http://www.figstreet.com/guesthouse/weddinglinks.html
Then you hire a photographer like me. You can find us listed in sites like the Fig Street website or on Yelp and the like. Lots of French Quarter hotels/restaurants will let you marry in their courtyards if you are staying there a few days or if you are going to have your "wedding dinner" with them. Also, many couples take a carriage ride after the ceremony.Royal Carriages is a good one to hire. Any questions. email me! KK
