Description
This is the statue of Robert E. Lee that has stood at Lee Circle ever since I was a child here in New Orleans. it is being removed for a number of reasons, some political and some not.
My digital file went down with one of my computers many years ago, but this print remains. So I scanned it and did some digital work on it--Photoshop. So if you want a piece of New Orleans history before it vanishes, here is the scanned original print for you by me and from me. Copyright kathleen k parker.

Today, May 19, 2017, Robert E. Lee will no longer be standing at Lee Circle. The Mayor (Mitch Landrieu) has declared his statue to be a negative to our city and has grabbed money to remove the statue and three others which are already gone. As we say in N'Awlins, "Ain't Dere No More." So goodbye Robert E Lee. You have stood there since I was a child. When I was very young, we went in costume to Lee Circle to watch Mardi Gras parades on Mardi Gras Day.
