"Chapman Hyams was a millionaire stock broker in New Orleans and an art collector. He had many business interests, including holdings in the St. Charles Hotel Company, the Louisiana Jockey Club, and The Times-Picayune Publishing Company. He was also a member of the New Orleans Cotton Exchange, the Stock Exchange, the New Orleans Club, the Boston Club and the Southern Yacht Club. Thanks, Steve! I could not go in there and had to shoot these photos between gaps in the open spaces in the metal door that was locked. Not easy and also a stormy afternoon, but I have always wanted this statue and never knew where to find it. Now I know! I will return on a sunny day and see what she looks like then. I just love this statue! :) kk
