Description
In the city of New Orleans, in the Faubourg Marigny specifically, is the Royal Launderette. Its sign sways in the breeze before the damaged boarded up buildings in the background. This image was shot about six months after Hurricane Katrina damaged New Orleans most viciously.

Hurricane Katrina will long be remembered. Nice that you photographed the "story" of the days/months afterward.
Kathleen K Parker replied:
Thanks, Debra. There really wasn't much else to photograph here after the storm's damage. It was a strange time. I shot the first wedding in the French Quarter on Oct. 3...for free at 5 AM and had to dodge the National Guard to get there--Artillery Park by Jax Brewery. Some pretty interesting adventures right around then. I will never forget it. :) kk

After the hurricane many people from New Orleans came to San Antonio to live. This is a cool find and capture, KK!
Kathleen K Parker replied:
Thanks, Gary. I landed in Atlanta for two years and came back home. Lived here all my life until then. Love my NOLA. :) kk
