Description
Houmas House is a lovely plantation on River Road near New Orleans. Named after the first owners, the Houmas Indians, it has been restored by several owners. The Crozat family from NOLA owned it when the movie "Hush Hush Sweet Charlotte" was filmed there, starring Bette Davis. Here is a link to the history of the plantation. http://www.houmashouse.com/history.htm

Thank you ALL so very much. I really appreciate your comments. Here is a good story about Houmas House. I went to LSU, and Suzanne Crozat did, too. Her family is mentioned in the description of ownership of Houmas House. She was at the house when Hush Sweet Charlotte was filmed. Suzanne had an encounter with Bette Davis who yelled at her her to "get out of my powder room>" Suzanne replied that she would and that she would LET Ms Davis use HER powder room since her family owned Houmas House. Bette almost choked to death! :))
