Description
On All Saint's Day in New Orleans, people visit the cemeteries, bringing flowers and other gifts to the final resting places of the deceased. In this photo a spiritual priest has brought incense to the tomb of Marie Laveau, Voodoo Queen of New Orleans. Here the priest is blowing on the embers on the ends of the incense sticks. A cigarette is held in one ringed hand. The priest told me that this ceremony is performed yearly on All Saint's Day at Marie's tomb.
